The entire museum is a work of art, from its very architecture to the many halls of its permanent collection, among which you will find one of the country’s most important collections of pre-hispanic art as well as art from the viceregal era.

Its temporary exhibitions give focus to contemporary art, and make it one of the most important museums of this genre not only in Puebla but in the country as a whole. The museum’s discourse takes on a journey throughout the history and distinct regions and cultures of the country, exploring diverse perspectives in religious thinking, the human form, language, daily life, social relations, artistic expression and the cult of the dead.
